In my dream I walkthrough fields of arrowleaf balsawoodflowers done for the yeardry and wrinkled by midday sunTall ponderosa pinesthe

The magi cicada have been living quietly
under my ribcage

There wasn’t much small talk.
The host hooked me up
with some drugs.
Slow drip.
Steady pump.

Winter holds me tight
full on minus twenty-five
for days on end.
